Colmic Airon F44 pole

I've seen a lot of poles broken on this peg.

Commercial fisheries are becoming more demanding, higher match weights, as 300lb match weights are a common and fish up to 20lb on the pole.   Therefore Colmic have made their poles to cope with these demanding situations.  I have been lucky enough to catch fish up to 19lb and some massive match weights, which broke a few venue records.  What a love about this pole is they are capable of breaking records and not sections.  It is true, "the only thing Colmic poles break is records".

Frank Donachie with some "units" caught down the edge, pulling fish away from snags!!

Glen Picton catching 15lb carp on Colmic F44.

The Airon F44 is equally as good on silvers.  Joints are very hard wearing.  The poles aren't the lightest poles, but this is where the strength comes from and they last, not wear out.  I know, cause I've had mine for 2 years and haven't broke a section!!

Ivy house lakes

No Peg 41
50lb total weight
29lb silvers
2nd in silvers

7th overall

22 fished the match.

I had a nightmare, my filling fell out ten mintues, lost my first three carp, one pulled out, one to the aerator unsure how the fu#k it got there ( pole bent double and 15 meters of elastic) and the next took me under the next platform.  It hasn't been the best of weeks to be honest, but I stayed charm (no moaning, wheel spinning out car park, or throwing my gear in the lake).   However the next few hours were frustrating, I had two grass carp swimming around taking the pi$$ to be honest.  I couldn't catch them (even stayed on after the fishing match) and still.couldn't catch it.  This Grass Carp is huge, 15lb 10oz when it was last caught!!!

I had a run of skimmers at 7 meters to my right and left on pellets.and a couple of carp.  The biggest shock was I never caught down the edge in the last hour.  Gutted.  I only hooked one and it had to be the smallest carp in the lake, only 1lb mirror carp.

Well done to Des Shipp for winning silvers with a impressive 45lb silvers and Mike Etheridge for winning the match.

Ivy house lakes

Peg 35
1st place
Unfortunately 3 fished

With the hot British weather, the fish were mainly on top and proved impossible to catch,  after 3pm I only manged 2 small carp, one went under the platform, which some how I got out?!

I had some issues with my first carp that took me under the platform twice and then finallt broke me past Jason Gooch...   Fish are fighting really hard

Ivy House Lakes

  • Peg 5
  • 33lb
  • Won silvers by 2oz!!
  • 10 fished

After talking about where to draw today, I wanted to be anywhere in the wind, ideally blowing in face.  So I was pleased with peg five.  As it's normally a great peg!!  However, my fishing match didn't go to plan, as I had one tiny perch, one skimmer and a 6lb carp after three hours??!!
I thought I'd sit it out for carp, but I couldn't catch them, and believed they would come down the edge which they didn't?! The beauty of Ivy House Lakes is that your able to come from zero to hero in the last hour if the carp are willing to have a go!  Unfortunately I could only managed one in the last thirty minutes for 5lb.
I caught skimmers on dead maggots at 9 meters, in the last couple of hours for 21lb 10oz to beat Chris Timmes by 2oz, very lucky.

Don't forget Colmic Airon have an open day 23rd May 2015 at 9.30am onwards at Ivy House Lakes.
