Alvechurch Fisheries Winter League. Round 8

Last round of Alvechurch Fisheries Winter League.  Drew peg 20 on the Canal, which ain't the best or the worst.  Lucky that I had an empty peg to my left (Peg 22 wasn't drawn).
Started dobbing on bread for a Ide and Carp after trying my 5th spot.... and that was that for carp.  Introduce maggots and slowly built up two maggots lines, caught some cracking Ide, Barbel and 3 small carp.  Weighed 53lb.  More than I thought...... I didn't do any estimations!!!

Would of really enjoyed today, but I have a shocking flu.  Was coughing my guts up.  So good job Phil was 40 yards away from me!!  (Too far for kill zone)

Ended the league with 16 points, which was joint first with Steve Bellion.  But I was lucky to have 4 sections wins to Steve's 3.

Overall

1. Me
2. Steve Bellion
3. Owen Robinson
4. Phil Evans
5. Paul Mortimer
6. Tony Talyor

Alvechurch Fisheries Winter League - Round 6

Round 6 Alvechurch Winter League
Peg 18 Canal
Soild..... errrrrr nope.
3rd in section of 10
29 fished the match.

I had 2 early Carp and 1 late one.  Unreal.  Couldn't catch Carp, pegs 18nand 16 have been solid for weeks, Steve Bellion had 158lb 2 weeks ago on peg 18 Canal!!

I had 34lb 4oz of mainly barbel and Ide on maggots, I even caught several Barbel on hard pellets!!   Nice day really, peg was worth 50lb of them of these fish.  However, you normally get a late run of carp???? Not today

Russell on peg 16 had 35lb and Phil Evans destroyed the lake on peg 3 with 90lb ish.

Ivy House Lakes - 5th Round Winter League

Ivy House Lakes winter league.
Round 5
Peg 26
DNW

I love fishing Willow lake at Ivy House as it has some many surprises, which I found out today!!

I drew peg 26 and fancied it for a few bites, with the wind off my back, great skimmer area and a chance of carp, I thought I could get a top three finish in my section.  I hoped for an early carp on the lead but caught a skimmer, went on the pole thinking it's going to be solid with skimmers.... eeeeeer no 1 roach and 2 skimmers.   Just shows what I know about fishing!!

Derek Newson catching on feeder to island and had two carp about 45 minutes in.  I had no choice but to fish for carp for the rest of the match but I gave up 3pm and done the walk of shame.

Lost £10 in side bets..... the banter on Facebook is going to be brutal on Derek Newson's private page!!! 😂😂

Manor Farm Leisure - Silvers Only

Manor Farm Leisure
Silvers ONLY.
Round 3
Peg 42 Boundary Pool

Third time lucky to get on Boundary Pool as the last two rounds has seen me draw Ash Pool twice and have two blow outs.  Boundary Pool has been dominating the frame places and points, as it 1 point for winning, 2 points for second overall, no sections.  So unfortunately the draw bag hasn't been in my favour.  Strange really, as Ash Pool is full of skimmers, and yet don't seem to be feeding?!

Had a nightmare with the wind..... lost cap, pole sections in lake (easily got them back), lost fish, fish getting blown out of the landing net when netting (too small), F1 trouble, had to feed maggots with a catapult at 5 metres, struggled to hold 5 metres at times and fishing 4 x 18 float in 3.5 foot of water.  Looked hideous!!  And yet Still managed 21lb 2oz for third overall.  All on maggots over groundbait. Nothing fancy.  Like a lot of anglers if the conditions would of been better, them 30lb could of been on the cards.

All todays results
Top 3
