Manor Farm Leisure - Island Pool

  • Peg 9
  • 29lb 12oz
  • No good
  • 32 fished

I drew peg 9 on Island, with a "no chuck rule" and every peg in by us it was always going to be hard.  I decided to fish the pole long and be negative, but I never had a bite in 1.5 hours!!  So I tried the waggler as they were fish up in the water, but the tow and wind made it difficult, and 3 of us fishing in more or less in the same spot not ideal.  So fished the bomb and caught 4 carp (12lb ghost carp), 2 small F1's, 2 method feeders and a baggin waggler!  Nightmare, but no stone throwing or arguments.

Swindon go on tour 2013

Whiteacres

Friday 13th

I believe the summer is officially over as the last week the temperature has dropped a lot and the rain is shocking today, and you could tell is was Friday 13th.

The plan was to drive early (4am) to get on match on Bolingey, however this sold out some we couldn’t get on, and Giwnear didn’t have a match, as there wasn’t anyone booked in.  So there wasn’t a match for us.  So we left at 9am, and pleasured fished Trelawnly pegs 16, 17 and 18.  I was peg 18, we had a fiver on for the biggest fish.   I had several carp, but my biggest was 9lb 7oz, Neil’s was 8lb and Phil’s was 12lb 3oz, so Phil gladly took my and Neil's fiver.

Manor Farm Leisure - Windmill Pool

  • Peg 29
  • 100lb 8oz
  • 2nd
  • 7 fished

I always look forward to fishing Windmill. I do like it, as it's very varied.   I draw peg 29 made things simple, fishing pellets on the pole long up and down in the water. Maggots to my right margin under the tree and corn to my right.
The lake fished reasonably hard. Could only take a fish off each line and had to rotate I couldn't plunder a line.

Phil Bendell, my old team mate, had some nice fish.

Turner 400

  • B19
  • Permanent peg 38 Clainfield
  • 3lb 1oz
  • 12th in section, 24 in a section
  • 24 teams fished
  • Team was 4th Overall

The point, on caravan bend......

Was hoping of another chance of winning Turner 400 again. This year I was fishing with
Paul Glenfield
Ian Didcote
Mark Malin
Myself

A strong team, was concerned, that I would be the weakest link, especially as I haven't fished a river this year! So had a little play yesterday to get dust off my kit, as it hadn't been touched since November.

I was disappointed with my draw, which is point of caravan bend. This peg is a iffy peg and can throw up big fish, but the river hasn't been fishing well for large fish and therefore you want a bits peg!

I was very concerned as the first 30 minutes of my fishing match saw me catch 1 tiny roach, a bleak, a dace and a perch. All for 5oz. Ian Shepard had 1lb plus above me, things were looking bad.  Went on the choppy, and caught some tiny perch, on tiny pieces of worms or red maggot. I kept trying, but was rewarded with nothing! The last 2.5 hours saw me catch a single perch and crayfish.  Unbelievable, that I only caught two tiny roach.

WB Clarke won the team event
Dave Kirk won the match with 16lb roach!!!
