Ivy House Lakes - Two dayer

Its that time of year again where Ivy House Lakes run their annual pairs match.  Me and Jason Crump just missed out on top spot last year to Dwayne and Martin.  So hopefully we can do better this year?

Day One

The draw couldn't of been more better for me, as Jas drew me peg 9 on Heron.  Which is the best peg on the lake in my opinion, especially this time of year.  As it's wide and the fish just seem to wanna be here. Simple for bait, maggots and maybe a bit of bread.

Basically, I caught on a maggot feeder and maggots on the pole. Really simple match and simple bait tray.  Happy days, won the lake and match, but more importantly Jason done well to come half way from a very tough draw on OML (Old Match Lake).

We had 7 points and was currently third.

Day two

We swap round, so I'm on OML and Jason drew me peg 7, which only 4lb come off the day before with 9 points (11 been last and 1 been first).  Jas drew peg 3 on Heron which I'd fancy as there is a lot of room, but the wind is howling into his face.

It was a VERY slow start for me and the first 40 mintues I hadn't had a bite, Andy Lloyd next to me had one decent Carp, but otherwise it was tough.  Luckily I caught a skimmer on the pole over C Food Expander mix 😋.

I got odd bites, definitely a waiting game.  I had 12 skimmers and 1 tiny roach for 10lb and 8 Carp for 48lb and weighed 58lb to win the lake abs second overall individually.

Jas struggled the last two hours and saw his section points slip away, so he came sixth again, but it was enough for us to just win the pairs, as we won on weight (same points as Dwayne and Henry).
