Alvechurch - Horseshoe

Peg 3
69lb 1oz
3rd
8 fished

Started on straight lead and bread, two carp.  Went long pole and caught 10 Carp in 2 hours, then I couldn't catch.  No feeder chuck to the island, which is a good rule, otherwise your be conflicting with peg 29.

Unreal 12 Carp first 2.5 hours and 1 carp in last 2.5 hours.  Thought I'd catch in last hour?  Failed.  Hope the winter league is going to be kinder to me???

Well done Owen on another win!

Ivy House Lakes - Heron

Ivy House Lakes
18 fishing
Peg 13
64lb
6th overall

Unbelievably I cannot get away from this area.  Slow start, tried to catch at 5 sections by failed miserably.  I started catching 11 metres, but felt I want doing enough to win, so went shallow and ruined my peg for a bit.  Caught a couple of F1's, but wasn't quick enough.   Even chucked the feeder for nothing.  If you get behind the race, your in trouble.  None the less, loads of bites in the end.  Learnt a few things

Pick up wise, I did really well, picked up Matthew Vater rod bag (check your peg before leaving).  Got to love a £2 side bet (Derek Newson and Jason Crump)... good battle with Jas, I was lucky as I had bigger stamp of fish.

Good luck to those fishing the festival this coming week.  Wish I was....

Manor Farm Leisure- Island Pool

  • Peg 36
  • 42lb
  • 6th out of 9 anglers

Manor Farm Leisure today, haven't been here for a couple of months.  With the winter league around the corner thought I'd better go?

Really struggled for bites.  4 carp and 4 F1's and a couple of bits..... 42lb and another "last".

Should of played the waiting game to be honest.  There was a few lumps caught today.  8mm pellet was best.

Ivy House Lakes - Heron Pool

Back to Ivy House Lakes.
Peg 14 Heron.
95lb 8oz.
2nd overall.
9 fished

Was in two minds to either go to Manor or Ivy House, so went to Ivy House again, but on Heron Pool.  Draw peg 14 again....  a really slow start.  No bites at 5 metres, which I hoped to catch from start to finish as we had loads of room (only 9 fishing)!!  Unfortunately after 20 mintues, I had to go long to 13 metres on pellet to catch.  Unreal.

In the end caught loads of small carp at 5 metres on 4mm expanders to begin and then on two dead maggots.  Caught down both edges, again at 5 metres.

Great venue, as every peg is worth plenty of bites at the moment.  Looking forward to Ivy House Winter league.  Hope the draw gods are kind?!

Ivy House Lakes - Kingfisher

Ivy House Lakes
Kingfisher
Peg 41
Tough but enjoyable.
55lb for second.  Best mate beat me.
11 fished.

With the Ivy House Winter league coming thought I better spend some time on the venue.

Last peg in the bag 41, which is normally a good area.  Hopefully catch a few carp across and some bream down the middle.....
Well, I caught only carp, not one silver at all.  Gutted not to catch down the middle.  Caught everything across and a couple munters down the edge.

Well done Gary Donachie for winning.
