Steve Marshall's little lad Bradon drew peg 20 Middle for me, which wouldn't be my first choice of pegs. BUT you never know with fishing and especially with Middle Pool....... and the weather is finally warming up???
Bascially I started on the pellet feeder and never had a liner or bite. So went on the pole and suprisingly hooked a small stockie, which come off at the net. Then bumped another...... not looking to good.... for 4 hours I struggled to catch, caught small stockies and skimmers on 4mm Marukyu amino pellets at 14.5 meters. I was concerned I would be doing the walk of shame...... and my new sponsor,
Mosella UK would be thinking my on earth did we sign up Chris Telling.
I luckily caught 6 carp and 1 F1 down the edge for 54lb and had has 18lb of skimmers and stockies. I lost two carp down the edge, one massive mirror that was wallowing around and another that took me around the lake only to pull out at netting range.
I came 4th overall which ain't bad for the peg, as it won anything for months, but lost two carp down the edge which has cost me the match....
Thanks to Gary Watts for the photo.
