Alders Farm Fishery

Peg 19
61lb 7oz
No good
11 fished

Pines Lake is my favourite lake at Alders Farm Fishery.   I drew peg 19 and fantastic first part of the match, 6 carp in 6 quick casts on the pellet feeder at 20 meters.  I got quite excited, but this came to a grinding holt.  So tripped off about 5 meters of line, thinking they are simply backed of????  No bites... onto the pole.

Shipping out my trustee F66 pole in the cross wind was no problem. but unfortunately my float wouldn't go under.  Was a little shocked to be honest.  I had only 1 proper carp and 5 tiny ones, lovely sign to fish the fish breeding naturally in lakes.

The next 4.5 hours was really grim and I really struggled to put anything in the net.  Could only muster one fish off one line....... and that was me having two feeder lines, even tried chucking feeder onto a third line (end peg gave me the room), out of the way, which resulted in nothing.

It was a shame was 70lb was last in the frame, which was only another three fish and I didn't loose any fish on the feeder neither.  Not sure what I should of done differently. ...

Good stamp carp on the feeder

such a healthy fishery, caught 5 of these little beauties
I love Colmic Method Line.  Sinks easily and is very durable

Alders Farm Fishery

Peg 22
44lb 11oz
1st place (but only just)
12 fished

Haven't been to Alders Farm for ages, so was looking forward to it.  Early start, set off at 6.30 and three hours later I arrived. Traffic was murder on the A40 and A34.  So there was two pegs left in and both were flyer, peg 22 and peg 5.  Peg 5 has to be one of my favourite pegs on Pines Lake, as I was lucky to drew it quite a few times on the winter league.... a real "Bung Hole". However drew next to Westy on the dam wall, peg 22.

A bit of a rush to kit up.  Started on the pellet feeder and had one second chuck and it was quite.  Loads of fish topping, blowing and moving around..... but didn't feed.  Even after the match I struggled a little.... I caught best on pinging pellets and giving it some to be fair.  Had around 15 ish small carp and a coupl of skimmers to just win the match.  Very tight.  Two 42lb 3oz and I had 44lb 11oz.  One fish in it.  Can't wait to get back..... hopefully the traffic won't be a killer.

Alders Farm Fishery

Peg 22
136lb
1st place
10 fished

Haven't been to Alders Farm Fishery for ages, so was looking forward to it, even if it was mother day (sorry mum, taking her out Wednesday).  Set off early, as it is quite fair for me, in the new van 😏.

On arrival see Trevor and Lewis, got talking and looking forward to seeing there new tackle shop, fair play guys.  I was lucky and had the last peg in the drawing bag, which was peg 22.  The dam wall, which is an area that has been cruel.  However, today, it was surly going to be a flyer, wind blowing into me and loads to of room.  Game on?!

It was a slow start and never had a bite on the pole for twenty minutes and therefore chucked a inline feeder, which small me catch two tiny, but prefect common carp and then toning for another twenty mintues.  Worrying.... So went on the pole and after 10 long mintues, I had a furly of carp.  Which was a relief more than anything.  Ricky had been catching well on the feeder to island.  So had a lot of catching up to do.

I caught fish on and off on the pole and pellet line at 13 and 14.5 meters.  Then wait down the edge with mircos and maggots to have 6 quick carp down the edge, game on.  Caught steady for last hour and was lucky to just beat Ricky by 6lb.  All weights below.

Colmic Airon F66, really does tick ALL the boxes

Alders Farm Fishery

Peg 18
24lb
10 fished

Fished Alders Farm Fishery today, drawn peg 18 which I fancied.  However we geeted with ice, which become a nightmare for us ten mintues before the match started, even worse for the guy on peg 17.  Was unfishable for him (felt a bit sorry for him) as he must of spent at least hour and thirty mintues of his match breaking and smashing.

I was worried as we didn't catch our early mug fish, whereas looking across the lake a couple were caught.

I caught 6 Carp (1 was tiny 1/2 ouce) and 1 perch.    Caught one on the feeder, and rest on the pole.  Weighed 24lb. Lost one that cost me third place (paid top 3). Everyone caught carp, and the conditions were far from perfect.

If I could of fished it again, unsure what I would of done differently?!

Well done to Trevor Price for the win.

Gary Watts was fourth overall with 25lb, so the van winner.  Liam Dennick drew Peg 1 again, drew it three times out of five visits.
